Shortly after his election, Obama chose former National Abortion Rights Activation League legal director Dawn Johnsen to serve on his Department of Justice Review Team, and Ellen Moran, former director of Emily’s List, as White House communications director. Melody Barnes, former Emily’s List board member, was tapped for director of his Domestic Policy Council.
Of course, the mandate itself was a huge payback for Planned Parenthood and other anti-life groups that supported Obama’s election. Through the mandate, the administration guaranteed them income via the forced subsidization of abortion, abortifacients, birth control pills, and sterilization by taxpayers, employers and insurance companies throughout the country. This guaranteed a continual flow of funds for Planned Parenthood—income which is over and above the nearly $500 million in tax-payer funds they already receive each year. Someone must have told the president that there were still under-employed abortion peddlers loitering at the White House gates, because Obama just announced that he was hiring Planned Parenthood’s former media director Tait Sye to serve as a deputy assistant secretary for public affairs at Health and Human Services.
