H.R. 3762, the Restoring Americans' Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act of 2015, would redirect hundreds of millions of dollars currently going to Planned Parenthood to other health care centers. The legislation now goes back to the House, where it is expected to pass. But then, it will go to President Obama for his signature. As you probably remember, he was endorsed by Planned Parenthood, so not surprisingly, he has already threatened to veto this bill. Planned Parenthood can no longer hide behind well-rehearsed talking points. We know the truth. And so does the president. It's time for all of us to ask him to do the right thing. During the Friday morning news shows, all three broadcast networks censored Thursday’s vote to strip federal funding of Planned Parenthood. While ABC, NBC and CBS turned a blind-eye, other traditional media outlets and the pro-life movement reported the “landmark victory.” The reconciliation bill, which would repeal key provisions in Obamacare in addition to defunding Planned Parenthood, passed 52 to 47. If made law, the bill would transfer taxpayer dollars from the abortion giant to comprehensive health care centers. Because of changes made by the Senate, the House of Representatives must approve the bill before it reaches the desk of President Barack Obama, who will likely veto. (read more) |
