Bill Diss is the pro-life teacher who was fired this week after a local school board in the liberal bastion of Portland, Oregon was upset he dared to kick Planned Parenthood out of his classroom.
But the pro-life movement isn’t content to let Diss deal with the firing without support. Pro-life advocate Jimmy Nolan has created a campaign designed to raise funds for Diss to help him as he continues battling the school board. Nolan, president of Crossroads Pro-Life, a national pro-life organization, says “All donations will go directly to Bill Diss.” “Diss, an outstanding and highly qualified public school teacher from Portland, Oregon, has been fired by the Portland Public School District for being Pro-Life,” he said. “Diss raised Planned Parenthood’s ire when a “health education team” came into his computer science classroom uninvited and attempted to enroll his students in the Health and Human Services’ Teen Outreach Program (TOP). When the principal arrived at the classroom, she instructed the members of Planned Parenthood to ignore Mr. Diss and continue. Mr. Diss then asked the principal if he could leave the classroom because Planned Parenthood and their presentation violated his deeply held religious beliefs. The principal refused this request and forced him to stay.” (read more) Yesterday, Senator Pat Roberts, a pro-life Kansas Republican, introduced the Senate companion to the “Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act.”
This legislation was introduced in the House by pro-life Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) and requires prominent, transparent disclosure of abortion coverage for each plan offered on a health care exchange. It also requires that the amount of the abortion surcharge be clearly identified for each plan that includes elective abortion. Roberts was joined by 14 Senators in introducing a bill to require the Obamacare exchanges to fully disclose which participating insurance plans offer abortion coverage. Affiliate numbers, facility numbers, customer numbers, and three of its four categories of “services” have all decreased. Its bottom line, however, continues to increase, thanks to its expansive government funding and its lucrative abortion business. PPFA closed out the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2013, with total assets of more than $1.6 billion dollars—a $109.4 million dollar increase from 2012—and banked $58.2 million in profits. In the meantime, its level of services has decreased 2.7 percent since 2009...

In this meta-analysis (a study of studies, in which results from many studies are pooled), Dr. Yubei Huang et al. reported that, combining all 36 studies on the ABC link in China that have been published through 2012, the overall risk of developing breast cancer among women who had at least one induced abortion was significantly increased by 44%.
