The Senate voted today to confirm Judge brett Kavanaugh to be the next Associate Justice on the Supreme Court, replacing pro-abortion Justice Anthony Kennedy following his retirement.
Kavanaugh was confirmed on a 50-48 vote with pro-abortion Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski voting present and pro-life Montana Senator Steve Daines, who supported Kavanaugh, absent due to his daughter’s wedding. All other Republicans voted for Kavanaugh along with West Virginia Democrat Joe Manchin and all other Democrats voted against his nomination. Kavanaugh secured enough votes yesterday when Senators Susan Collins and Joe Manchin agreed to support him despite misleading accusations made by pro-abortion Demcorats and abortion activists agaisnt him. “I will vote to confirm Judge Kavanaugh,” she said at the end of a long speech blasting the character assassination campaign against Kavanaugh. She said the contentious Kavanaugh confirmation hearings meant that the Senate had reached “rock bottom.” (read more) Click here for a full list the candidates of the major parties and their ratings by Missouri Right to Life Federal or State Political Action Committee. Vote "NO" on Amendment 1: "Clean Missouri" is Dirty Business!
The ballot initiative known as "Clean Missouri" (Amendment 1) -- in a guise to bring about needed ethics reform in government -- is in reality an attempt to oust Republicans from conservative strongholds and increase the number of Democrat legislators. As there are virtually no Democrat pro-life legislators, this is likewise an attempt to destroy pro-life legislative efforts in Missouri. Click here for more information. Vote "NO" on Amendment 3: Open Door for Public Funding of Human Cloning/Unethical Research Amendment 3 is being sold as an amendment to legalize medical marijuana in Missouri. While it does do that, it also creates a whole new bureaucracy, operating largely outside of any legislative oversight, with access to millions of state dollars. Click here for more information. The Senate voted today 51-49 to advance the nomination of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, voting to invoke cloture and end debate on his nomination. The vote sets up a final vote on Saturday, where Kavanaugh is expected to be confirmed.
Republican senators voted to advance to the final vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination while Democrats voted in opposition. However, pro-abortion Senator Lisa Murkowski, an Alaska Republican, voted against moving forward while West Virginia Democrat Joe Manchin voted to push Kavanaugh’s nomination ahead to a final vote. During the debate leading up to the vote, pro-abortion Senators Chuck Schumer and Diane Feinstein attacked Kavanaugh on the issue of abortion, saying that he would represent the final vote to overturn Roe v. Wade and allow states to once again protect unborn babies under law. They attack his decision to not create an unlimited right to abortion for illegal immigrants... ...The FBI interviewed nine potential witnesses in search of possible corroboration of Christine Ford’s claim that Kavanaugh forcibly groped her when they were teenagers. Although the report is not expected to be made public as FBI reports are usually not made public to protect the confidentiality of witnesses, potential witnesses named by Ford previously said they had no knowledge of the party where she claims the attack occurred. They reiterated those statements to the FBI. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles Grassley viewed the FBI’s report and says nothing in it confirms the claims Christine Ford made about Brett Kavanaugh and added that it’s time to move forward to vote on his nomination. “This investigation found no hint of misconduct and the same is true of the six prior FBI background investigations conducted during Judge Kavanaugh’s 25 years of public service,” Grassley said.
