Vice President Mike Pence addressed a crowd of hundreds of thousands of people at the March for Life today. He said the pro-life movement will not rest until abortion ends in the United States.
“I’m humbled to be the first Vice President to have the privilege to attend the March for Life. I am deeply humbled to stand with you today,” he said. “It’s a good day. It’s the best day I’ve ever seen for the March for life, in more ways than one.”
Pence received a standing ovation from pro-lifers as he declared, “I’m pro-life and I don’t apologize for it.”
During his speech, Vice President Pence said the Trump Administration will continue working with pro-life advocates to defund Planned Parenthood, stop taxpayer funding of abortions, and to ban and late-term abortions.

Vice President Mike Pence will speak at the March for Life, a senior White House official confirmed to the New York Times this morning.
This is the first time a Vice President of the United States will attend in the Washington, D.C. March's 44-year history.
When March for Life organizers released the list of speakers last week, they mentioned a “surprise VIP guest TBA.”
Rumors that Pence was going to appear at the March for Life have been circulating in DC and were heightened when March for Life organizers sent out a note warning of extra security screening.
“Participants should be aware that due to heightened security concerns, all will be required to go through airport-type screening to reach the rally site,” they said. “The screening stations will be on the Washington Monument grounds directly north of the Monument near 16th Street.”

January 26, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) – During a Wednesday night interview with ABC, President Trump called out the media for covering a pro-abortion march but ignoring the March for Life.
ABC's David Muir asked Trump if he "could hear the voices from the women’s march here in Washington?"
"I couldn’t hear them, but the crowds were large," Trump responded. "You’re gonna have a large crowd on Friday, too, which is mostly pro-life people. You’re gonna have a lot of people coming on Friday, and I will say this, and I didn’t realize this, but I was told, you will have a very large crowd of people. I don’t know – as large or larger – some people say it’s gonna be larger. Pro-life people. And they say the press doesn’t cover them."

Friday's March for Life is the 44th annual gathering demanding human rights for the pre-born. It is the largest annual American civil rights demonstration.

WASHINGTON, D.C., January 24, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) – The U.S. House of Representatives voted 238 to 183 today to permanently ban taxpayer funding of abortion.
The No Taxpayer Funding of Abortion Act (HR 7), introduced by Rep. Chris Smith, R-NJ, makes permanent the so-called Hyde Amendment permanent. Thus far the amendment, which prohibits federal money from being used to fund abortions through Medicaid, has been subject to annual renewal. 
The Charlotte Lozier Institute estimates the Hyde Amendment has saved over two million lives since it was enacted in 1976.
A January 2017 Marist poll revealed 61% of Americans don’t support using tax dollars to pay for abortions.
The No Taxpayer Funding of Abortion Act also removes abortion funding from Obamacare while legislators consider replacements for Obama's signature healthcare law.

WASHINGTON, D.C., January 23, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) – In his very first pro-life action, President Donald Trump signed an executive order today reinstating the “Mexico City Policy” banning government funding of foreign pro-abortion groups like the International Planned Parenthood Federation.
A cultural political football, the policy was first enacted by President Ronald Reagan in 1984 and was maintained by President George H.W. Bush until it was rescinded first by Democratic President Bill Clinton in 1993. Eight years later, President George W. Bush reinstated Mexico City and it was in effect until Barack Obama reversed it upon entering office in 2009.
The Mexico City Policy bans funding to organizations that perform abortions overseas or lobby for legalizing them in foreign nations.
Trump’s pro-life action comes a day after the 44th anniversary of the notorious Roe v. Wade Supreme Court ruling, which along with the Court’s Doe v. Bolton decision, established abortion-on-demand as the law of the land.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Family Research Council today praised House passage of the “Repeal Resolution,” the budget which established the process for the House and Senate to pass a “reconciliation” bill that will repeal significant portions of Obamacare and defund most of Planned Parenthood’s federal funding. 
Family Research Council President Tony Perkins made the following comments in support of the resolution:
“I commend the House and Senate for passing the resolution that sets the stage for Congress to repeal many of the most onerous parts of Obamacare and to redirect a huge portion of Planned Parenthood’s federal subsidies to healthcare centers offering services to women and children without subsidizing abortion on demand.
