Like most of the presidential candidates, Ben Carson has reacted to the release of videos from the Center for Medical Progress showing Planned Parenthood executives discussing the abortion giant’s fetal parts business.

On Carson’s campaign website there is a petition, which includes a link to the investigative video, and proclaims that:
We the undersigned insist that our tax dollars not be used in any way with Planned Parenthood in light of their Baby Organ Harvesting Programs.

The day the first video was released, and during that week, Dr. Carson, who is a retired pediatric neurosurgeon, tweeted his response and called on Congress to defund Planned Parenthood.

Carson also recently spoke out against Planned Parenthood as an organization, and in opposition to President Obama’s support for the abortion giant.

This morning, The Center for Medical Progress released an almost 12 minute documentary video that explores the market for aborted baby body parts. The footage shows the dissection of an 11-week aborted baby at a Colorado Planned Parenthood. The staff and potential parts buyer discuss the best way to  provide compensation for harvesting and selling the organs and other body structures.
Also seen in the tape is Vice President and Medical Director of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains (PPRM) in Denver, Colorado, Dr. Savita Ginde.
Ginde concludes that receiving payment on a per organ removal basis will be most beneficial: “I think a per-item thing works a little better, just because we can see how much we can get out of it.”

United States federal law states that it is a crime to knowingly acquire, receive, or otherwise transfer human fetal tissue as part of a sale. The punishment for such an act is fines and/or up to 10 years in prison.

Just two days after pro-life lawmakers in the House of Representative introduced a bill that would immediately defund Planned Parenthood, pro-life members of the U.S. Senate have followed suit with their own legislation.

In the wake of two shocking videos showing top Planned Parenthood doctors arranging the sale of body parts from aborted babies, more than 80 members of the House of Representatives have introduced a bill that would immediately defund Planned Parenthood. Representative Diane Black (R-TN) and 80 original cosponsors introduced H.R. 3134, the Defund Planned Parenthood Act of 2015, which would immediately halt all sources of Federal funding to Planned Parenthood and its affiliates for a one year period.

In the Senate, Senator James Lankford, an Oklahoma republican, agrees.  Lankford introduced a bill to end taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood for a year while they are investigated for possible illegal practices.

Specifically, the bill, Defund Planned Parenthood Act, would set a one-year moratorium on Planned Parenthood funding from the government, unless the organization ceases performing abortions, his office informed LifeNews.com.

Congress will investigate Planned Parenthood’s abortion practices, U.S. House Speaker John Boehner announced today.  The investigation comes in light of a shocking undercover video released yesterday by the Center for Medical Progress, showing Planned Parenthood Medical Director Dr. Deborah Nucatola casually munching on salad while describing how she strategically aborts children so their organs can be harvested.

A number of Republican presidential hopefuls have already spoken about the video, calling for Congress to investigate and defund Planned Parenthood, which currently receives 45 percent of its $1.2 billion annual budget from government funding.

Now that the state of Oregon requires Medicaid to pay for gender-reassignment (i.e., sex-change) surgery, children as young as 15 can have the procedure performed without getting parental consent—or without even notifying their parents at all.

The Background: After being lobbied by a transgender rights group last year, Oregon’s Health Evidence Review Commission (HERC) changed its Medicaid policies to approve coverage for cross-sex hormone therapy and gender reassignment surgeries. In 2013, the commission approved coverage for puberty suppression hormones for gender-questioning youth. All of these changes took effect January 1, 2015.
