But another aspect of the law is what’s known as the federally affiliated state health insurance exchanges. Though just as intrinsic to the new program’s success as the individual mandate, it’s gotten far less media attention. And that’s a problem, says Citizens Council for Health Freedom President Twila Brase, because they eventually will force everyone to give up their medical privacy. “It’s been sold as one federal and several state systems,” she explained. But in reality, it will operate like a computer network: The federal government is the server — collecting and processing all the data — and the states will only be portals where data entry takes place. At least five federal agencies will have access to individuals’ medical data. (read more) by Jay Sekulow from ACLJ
(Day 2 of Supreme Court hearing) What was very encouraging today is that Justice Anthony Kennedy, considered to be the swing vote in this issue, expressed deep skepticism about the constitutionality of the mandate. In fact, he called such an idea "unprecedented" and told the Solicitor General that the government needed to answer a "very heavy burden of justification" to show how the Constitution authorizes Congress to require that people buy insurance. As I told Megyn Kelly on FOX News today, the concerns raised by Justice Kennedy, are very telling. You can watch the interview here. As you know, I have repeatedly said it's difficult to judge the outcome of a Supreme Court case based on oral arguments. What did become clear today is that with an increasing level of skepticism about the individual mandate - and now from Justice Kennedy - could spell real trouble for the survival of ObamaCare. Thousands of pro-life Americans took to nearly 200 local rallies in cities and towns across the country to stand up for religious freedom and against the Obama mandate that requires employers to pay for birth control and drugs that may cause abortions.
The rally in Washington, D.C. was so large organizers had problems getting the entire crowd in one picture. Kristan Hawkins, the head of Students for Life of America, was one of the pro-life leaders to address the crowd in the nation’s capital. “The new mandate, which was released last month, violates our civil liberties and free exercise of religion by forcing every American, every public and private University Student Health Care Plan, and every U.S. Employer, regardless of religion or conscience, to pay for abortion-causing drugs, like Ella, in health insurance plans, she said. Countries accused the US of manipulating the negotiations process from start to finish through proposing the initial text of the resolution on maternal mortality, tightly controlling the ongoing negotiation and then using its prerogative as conference chairman to ram home a final document that other countries could not realistically change. We are getting down to the wire on the biggest grass roots event in Missouri for many years. Not since the veto override in 1999 for the ban on partial-birth abortion and in 2003 for the the Women's Right to Know legislation will so many like-minded citizens come to the Capitol to stand as one body and speak with one voice. According to the Missouri Baptist Convention Pathway, "For the first time anyone can recall, the executive director of the Missouri Baptist Convention will join with the St. Louis Archbishop in a religious freedom rally March 27 here at the Missouri State Capitol." Archbishop Robert Carlson will join with Dr. John Yeats of the Missouri Baptist convention and Maggie Karner, with the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church as speakers for the rally. Anyone who is concerned about religious freedom and the Obama administration's overstepping of its authority in mandating that religious affiliated organizations and businesses provide health insurance that includes procedures, devices and services to which they are morally opposed needs to be at this rally and demand your constitutional right to religious liberty.
