For those keeping score here are the pro-life bills already introduced this Session in the House that we will be making a priority. This is not a complete list (for example H.R. 2 repealing Obamacare was a priority pro-life vote but is not listed) and I expect the list to grow substantially as more pro-life Members introduce bills:
(go to article for list of bills) WASHINGTON, DC, January 25, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Following the rally at the National Mall Monday, the 38th annual March for Life commenced, with an estimated 400,000 marchers making their way to the Supreme Court. The massive crowd, noticeably larger than last year’s record crowd and composed of a majority of youth under age 25, seemed more jubilant than ever in their celebration of life.

“It was amazing to be able to reach out to over 6,800 young people to educate and inspire them to continue to make a difference for Life on their campuses and in their communities,” said SFLA president Kristan Hawkins after the conference and youth rally that drew thousands more the next day following the march. “These young people are the ones who will end abortion in our lifetime.” read more Much of the attention in the national attention-getting case of Kermit Gosnell has been focused on the Pennsylvania abortion center he ran where he killed and injured women in failed abortions and kills newborn infants by snipping their spinal cords. Now the focus is turning towards an abortion center in Delaware that employed him.
As LifeNews.com has reported, Gosnell is connected to two other abortion facilities in two states, including the Atlantic Women’s Medical Services in Wilmington, Delaware. Gosnell is associated with Eileen O’Neill and Leroy Brinkley, who owns the Delta Clinic of Baton Rouge and the Atlantic Women’s Services in Wilmington, Delaware. Gosnell was employed at the Delaware facility one day per week to do abortions. Late Thursday, Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden said his office will launch a “wide-ranging” investigation of Gosnell and probe his work at the Delaware abortion facility given the vast problems at his Pennsylvania abortion center. read more WASHINGTON, DC, January 18, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - In the keynote address to the mHealth Summit held in November last year, Bill Gates introduced a plan to use cell phone technology to register every birth on the planet in a newborn vaccination database.
Gates explained his theory that parents will have more children when infant mortality is high, so if you reduce child mortality parents will have fewer children, following the example of the urbanized West where birth rates have dropped to below replacement levels. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is well known for funding pro-abortion population control measures. Since its founding in 1994 the Gates Foundation has given millions of dollars to the International Planned Parenthood Federation, the largest abortion provider in the world, as well as to the United Nations Population Fund, which Steven Mosher, President of the Population Research Institute, has exposed as being a direct participant in China’s coercive one-child policy. In 2004, a UNICEF campaign to vaccinate Nigeria’s youth against polio was suspected of being a front for sterilizing the nation. Dr. Haruna Kaita, a pharmaceutical scientist and Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, northern Nigeria, found evidence of serious contamination. “Some of the things we discovered in the vaccines are harmful, toxic; some have direct effects on the human reproductive system,” Dr. Kaita said. At least four other developing countries have reported finding B-hCG in vaccines obtained from UN agencies. (read full article) House Speaker John Boehner and a bipartisan group of pro-life members of Congress held a press conference this morning to launch two bills prohibiting government funding for abortion. The No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act and the Protect Life Act were officially introduced today.
Congressman Chris Smith of New jersey said the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act will “eliminate the need for numerous, separate, annual abortion funding prohibitions (riders) and ensure that no other program or agency is exempt from this important safeguard. The bill also codifies the conscience clause known as Hyde-Weldon.” Meanwhile, pro-life Rep. Joe Pitts of Pennsylvania, who heads a key subcommittee that will begin dismantling Obamacare, introduced the Protect Life Act, which will amend the health care reform law, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, to ensure there is no funding for abortion or abortion coverage. read more Abortion practitioner Kermit Gosnell of Pennsylvania was charged with 8 counts of murder yesterday related to the botched abortion death of a woman and his infanticides of seven babies purposefully born and killed with scissors. But the grand jury report accompanying the charges shows state officials did nothing when reports came in about problems at Gosnell’s abortion center.

The pro-abortion group, in a statement to LifeNews.com, said it was “disheartened” to hear Priebus is strongly pro-life and his comment during the candidates’ debate — he said people who are pro-abortion may not be Republicans — “left many pro-choice Republicans to believe they will not be welcome in the GOP under his leadership.” read more |
