National update: 205 babies saved "Why do I have to go to the abortion center? Can't I pray at home or at church?" We get this question often; and the answer is very simple. You need to pray outside the abortion facility because your prayers there have an immediate impact on an urgent situation ... [more] St. Louis update It is nearing the end of October and we are halfway through our 40 Days for Life Campaign! ..ince the beginning of our 40 Days for Life Campaign on September 25th, we have already seen 21 turnarounds added to our numbers as well as hundreds of volunteers from different denominations join together in the defense of life. With the exchanges of Obamacare activated this month, it has become evident that it is nearly impossible for individuals to try to determine which exchange plans on their state exchange, if any, exclude abortion, said a group of lawmakers at a bipartisan press conference Wednesday.
U.S. Rep. Chris Smith (NJ-04) unveiled his legislation, H.R. 3279, the “Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act” —cosponsored by 70 other Members of the House—to ensure full disclosure of abortion coverage, requiring prominent and transparent disclosure of abortion coverage for each plan offered on an exchange. This is crucial information for millions of Americans since the many plans that include elective abortion are required by law to impose a monthly mandatory abortion surcharge. Many Americans object to paying a surcharge into a fund to be used solely for the purpose of aborting unborn babies. Vicki Cowart, Planned Parenthood New Mexico CEO: "Efforts like this [fetal pain bill in New Mexico] have nothing to do with protecting women." Actually, fetal pain bills are very much about “human decency and public health safety,” as Representative Marsha Blackburn so eloquently put it in a Politco op-ed. And that includes safety for women. Blackburn details some of the grisly conditions in clinics where late-term abortions are performed. LiveStrong.com (a partner of the LiveStrong Foundation) writes: All abortions, like most invasive medical procedures, come with a certain degree of risk. Late term abortions can carry more dangers dependent upon the type of procedure performed. LiveStrong’s article then goes on to detail risks to women, particularly when a D&E abortion is performed – a common late-term procedure. If you read about D&E abortions for yourself, it’s obvious how this procedure could cause great harm to women. Several studies have found an increased risk of physical and mental health complications for women in abortions performed after the 1st trimester, though early abortions were found to have their own dangers. U.S. mortality rates demonstrate the stark danger abortion poses to women. Since women can indeed suffer from shock, hemorrhaging, perforation, infection, instrumental injury, and death during and after abortion, it’s simply silly to state that restrictions “have nothing to do with protecting women.” (click here to continue reading article for #2 through #8) 14 monumental sculptures of unborn babies by controversial British artist unveiled in Qatar10/12/2013
during a ceremony accompanied by the sound of the beating of a heart, those balloons retracted to reveal an astonishingly ambitious - and pro-life - work of art by famed British artist and provocateur Damien Hirst.
The display, entitled “The Miracuous Journey,” is made up of fourteen monumental bronze sculptures depicting the journey of the unborn child from conception to birth. All told, the statues, which range from 5 to 11 metres in height and which took Hirst three years to create, weigh a total of 216 metric tonnes. The sculpture of the newborn baby boy that is the finale of the exhibit measures a staggering 46 ft. tall. (link to full article and photos) |
