With the revelation that the Obama Administration's Internal Revenue Service harassed and beleaguered groups seeking tax exemption status if their names included "Tea Party" or "Patriots," and then later admitting they targeted groups with purposes of promoting limited government and other conservative missions, questions are being raised about other targeted groups.
Were pro-life groups also a target of the staunchly pro-abortion Obama Administration?

Chicago's Thomas More Society reported first dealing with IRS concerns from pro-life groups as early as 2009.

When the Coalition for Life of Iowa sought tax exemption status in 2009, the IRS sought details about the content of members’ prayers at a Planned Parenthood facility. They also demanded that the group refrain both from activities that could be construed as protesting or picketing by police, and to cease activities that could be seen as confrontational or harassing by abortion-seeking clients.
Thomas More Society said the IRS insisted that “every member of the board of directors of the Coalition sign a statement, under penalty of perjury, that they will not picket or protest or organize others to picket or protest outside of Planned Parenthood.”

The jury in the murder trial of abortion practitioner Kermit Gosnell returned a verdict and found him guilty on three of the four first-degree murder charges he faced.

Gosnell was found guilty of killing Baby A, Baby C and Baby D and found not guilty of killing Baby E. He was also convicted on hundreds of lesser charges ranging from infanticide to running a corrupt organization.

The guilty verdict on these three counts subjects the abortion “doctor” to the potential he will face the death penalty when a second jury considers his sentencing on the convictions. The jury that will be tasked with sentencing Gosnell on the convictions will begin its work on May 21.

Gonell was also found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of patient Karnamaya Mongar, who died after a botched abortion. And he was found guilty on most of the more than 200 counts of violating Pennsylvania’s informed consent law.

Missouri Right to Life applauds those in the Missouri legislature who voted for HB 400. The original bill passed the House with a bipartisan veto-proof majority of 115 to 39. The amended bill passed the Senate with a veto-proof majority of 23 to 7. Amendments to the bill require that the House vote to confirm the Senate amendments. The bill will then move to the Governor's desk.

"This legislation bans web-cam abortions in Missouri and ensures that women will meet with a doctor in person at the time she begins the RU 486 abortion. This legislation protects women from those in the abortion industry who seek to profit from RU 486 abortions by providing sub-standard care to women," said Pam Fichter, president of Missouri Right to Life.

HB 400, as amended, was read the 3rd time and passed by the following vote:
YEAS—Senators
Brown Cunningham Dempsey Dixon Emery Kehoe Kraus Lager
Lamping Libla McKenna Munzlinger Parson Pearce Richard Romine
Sater Schaaf Schaefer Schmitt Silvey Wallingford Wasson—23
NAYS—Senators
Chappelle-Nadal Curls Justus Keaveny LeVota Nasheed Sifton—7

An emotionally exhausted jury in the murder trial of abortion practitioner Kermit Gosnell is going home for the weekend.
After two weeks of deliberations — with much of it spent getting an understanding of how to apply the law from the judge in the case and listening again to testimony of Gosnell staffers about how he and his staff killed babies in abortions and infanticides — the jury has no verdict.
Bryan Kemper of the pro-life group Stand True has been closely monitoring the case and put it in perspective for pro-life people getting impatient about a verdict. “Everyone needs to understand the jury must have 227 verdicts, not just one in the Gosnell murder trial. This can take a long time.

Local journalist J.D. Mullane has been the most dogged reporter following the murder trial of Kermit Gosnell. When most media outlets ignored the trial of the abortion practitioner, Mullane was there chronicling every day of it.

In a new interview with pro-life former governor and Fox News host Mike Huckabee, Mullane talks about how the power of what Gosnell did changed one reporter’s mind on abortion.

“That’s the power of the Gosnell trial,” he said.

“There is one journalist sitting in that courtroom who writes for a local publication who has told me that he is very liberal, very pro-choice, but after sitting through the testimony in the Gosnell trial, he’s reconsidered. He’s changed his mind,” Mullane says in the interview .

In light of the recent decision to extend emergency contraception (EC) sales over-the-counter to minors, there are a number of headlines concerning EC in the media.

Sadly, many of these articles are rife with factual errors. One more egregious example is Four Myths about Emergency Contraception Explained, which boldly presents facts as myth and myths as facts. A full report is available to correct these errors, and facts from the report are summarized at this link.

The name of the upcoming Fox News one-hour documentary has been revealed. "See No Evil – The Kermit Gosnell Murders" will air on Sunday, May 5 at 9 p.m. EDT on Fox News.
The scheduled documentary will be the most in-depth coverage the "house of horrors" murder trial has yet to receive on a major news network.
Many of the babies Gosnell "snipped" were beyond 24 weeks of development, making it illegal under Pennsylvania law for him to abort them under any circumstances. In all, Gosnell stands faces more than 380 charges.
Gosnell's fate could be decided by the time Fox broadcasts the program. His defense lawyer, Jack McMahon, rested yesterday without calling a single witness, including the abortionist himself. "Defense rests," he said tersely, according to eyewitnesses. They add that McMahon continually had to correct himself when he referred to Gosnell's victims as "infants."
Despite the sensational nature of the charges and disturbing facts revealed since police raided Gosnell's Women's Medical Society in West Philadelphia under suspicion that it was operating as a "pill mill," the case has received scant media attention. Some liberals inside the mainstream media have admitted the oversight is due to an inherent, pro-abortion bias.
