(national prayer vigil location search) WASHINGTON, D.C. (LifeSiteNews) – National Democrats appear to consider stoking fear about pro-life laws their best path to retaining control of Congress this fall, according to an analysis of advertising spending conducted by the Associated Press.
The AP reports that data from the research outfit AdImpact reveals Democrats have so far spent more than $124 million in 2022 on political ads mentioning abortion, a nearly twentyfold increase over the amount they spent on the same type of ads in the 2018 midterms. What’s more, the sum is larger than the Republican Party’s “combined national investment in ads relating to the economy, crime and immigration.” (continue reading) MRL PAC makes endorsements after examining the past voting records of candidates previously holding office, as well as this election year’s candidate survey results of all candidates. (LifeSiteNews) – Google-owned video giant YouTube plans to begin censoring whatever it deems “misinformation” pertaining to the safety of abortion, which pro-lifers suspect will have the effect of suppressing truth rather than clarifying it...
Specifically, YouTube’s misinformation policy says it forbids content that “contradicts local health authorities’ or WHO guidance on the safety of […] Chemical and surgical abortion methods deemed safe by health authorities,” as well as “Promotion of alternative abortion methods in place of chemical or surgical methods deemed safe by health authorities.” ...In fact, even when surgical abortions are committed by fully-licensed physicians, they are frequently anything but safe for the mother, as evidenced by the records of numerous abortion facilities across the country, including abortion chains embraced by abortion allies as leaders for their cause. As for chemical abortions, under the Trump administration the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) had warned mail distributors of abortion pills that their flouting of the Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) program requirements, which ensure that providers can “assess the duration of the pregnancy accurately, diagnose ectopic pregnancies, and provide surgical intervention in cases of incomplete abortion or severe bleeding, or to have made arrangements for others to provide such care” — and give women “access to medical facilities for emergency care” — could expose themselves to regulatory action potentially “including seizure or injunction, without further notice.” That policy was reversed by the Biden administration, however, and many Democrats favor allowing doctors to dispense abortion pills to patients to take them without in-person medical supervision. WASHINGTON (LifeSiteNews) – The United States Supreme Court finally issued its ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization Friday, upholding Mississippi’s 15-week abortion ban, overturning Roe v. Wade, and delivering the pro-life cause its most transformative victory since Roe unleashed nationwide abortion-on-demand in 1973.
Justice Samuel Alito delivered the opinion of the Court, which was joined by Justices Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett. The ruling declares Roe “egregiously wrong from the start.” “Its reasoning was exceptionally weak, and the decision has had damaging consequences,” Alito wrote. “The Constitution makes no reference to abortion, and no such right is implicitly protected by any constitutional provision.” (read more) The main purpose of “ranked-choice voting” is to undo the current party system of voting.
In ranked-choice voting, all the candidates for an office are listed on a single ballot in the primary and then the top vote getters run against each other in the general election. The voters rank each of the candidates from most favorable (1st) to least favorable. If the candidate with the most votes does not get over 50% in the first round, the candidate with the least votes is eliminated and the votes get recalculated until a winner is determined. This process is very confusing and could be easily manipulated and therefore raises issues with election integrity. From an election authority standpoint, it is a more complicated and time-consuming process with re-tabulating and recounting. Experience has shown that election results in ranked-choice voting cases have resulted in less popular candidates winning elections. Missouri Right to Life sees “Ranked-choice voting” as an attempt by progressives to break down our conservative pro-life majorities in Missouri. For these reasons, MRL is opposed to the initiative petition to put “ranked-choice voting” on the ballot. We encourage you to not sign the ranked-choice voting initiative when approached by any person asking for your signature. In addition to Missouri Right to Life’s opposition to ranked-choice voting, other groups opposing this initiative as well are: National Right to Life, Missouri Republican Party, and Concerned Women for America. Missouri Right to Life agrees with National Right to Life and the lawyers for the Mississippi Dobbs v Jackson case. We wait for the official opinion from the U.S. Supreme Court.
Continue to pray for the Justices and our nation as we await the official opinion of the court. The following is from National Right to Life: WASHINGTON – In response to the Politico article claiming to have a copy of the initial draft of the Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson, National Right to Life agrees with the statement of Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch who said, “We will let the Supreme Court speak for itself and wait for the Court’s official opinion.” The March on the Arch is Saturday, March 19th in St. Louis, MO.
